Whilst Anthony van Engelen and Jason Dill are the face of Hockey, it's Creative Director Benny Magliano who has led Hockey’s creative output from the beginning.

Having collaborated with Dill and Van Engelen during his time as a filmmaker for Alien Workshop, Magliano was recruited by them for his graphic vision, attention to detail, and art direction.

Known for using non-skate images and references, mainly based on primal fears, both real and imagined, he is inspired by horror and pop art movies from the 60’s/70’s/80’s

Magliano's use of horror film iconography is best shown by the use of Jason's hockey mask from the classic horror Friday the 13th. That is where the Hockey motto "Eyes Without a Face" comes from. And to tie it all together the tagline "Eyes Without a Face" also references the 60’s French  film Les Yeux Sans Visage (Eyes Without a Face) directed by Georges Franju.

Ben Kadow’s "Metal Mask" deck is the mask from 80’s Italian film Demons directed by Lamberto Bava. But it’s not just that Kadow lucked out with this graphic, there is an interview where he mentions his love of the 1985 Italian horror Phenomena directed by Dario Argento,

The identity created by Benny Magliano is an accurate representation of Hockey, and the styles of the skateboarders on their team, making Hockey one of the strongest skateboard brands today.
