GX1000 GRAFITTI DOCUMENTS
Dave Schubert was given a camera by his father when he was six years old and has been taking photographs ever since. As a teenager he was inspired by watching The Warriors and began skipping school to visit New York. Drawn to the anti-establishment he began to write graffiti and photograph the underground graffiti and skateboarding scenes.
Having shot editorial for magazines he tired of the commercialism being forced upon him and moved to San Francisco to go and study. In SF he returned to his passion for street photography and began self-publishing his own zines, his most well known being Graffiti Document. In recent years his archive of 90s San Francisco graffiti has grown a cult following on instagram.
